Azimuth Systems Introduces Wi-Fi Test Data Management Software
Revolutionary Studio Software Provides
Unique Data Collection, Correlation and Analysis Capabilities
for Wi-Fi Testing
ACTON, MA – November 14, 2005 – Azimuth
Systems, Inc., the leading provider of Wi-Fi® engineering test
equipment, today unveiled the industry’s first data management
software that provides wireless engineers with greater
visibility into the performance and interoperability of Wi-Fi
systems and devices. Azimuth® Studio™ software is an
integrated database that enables the collection, correlation
and analysis of critical test data from multiple sources. By
providing customers with a comprehensive tool for sharing and
managing company-wide test data, Studio software can improve
quality and accelerate time-to-market for new wireless
products.
“Studio is an integration tool that
maximizes our customers’ investments in test equipment and
highlights the benefits of using standardized test tools over
proprietary systems,” said Ray Cronin, CEO of Azimuth. “As the
industry’s leading manufacturers, service providers and test
laboratories standardize on Azimuth products, Studio acts as
the ‘glue’ to collect, analyze and manage data across
geographic regions and development organizations.”
The Azimuth Studio software enables
vendors to easily interpret data from various stages of the
product development cycle – from design to quality assurance
and benchmark testing – as well as across geographically
diverse test labs. The software can integrate data from a
variety of test environments and can be used across Azimuth’s
broad product portfolio, including its premier W-Series
testing platform, unique engineering benchtop testing product
and newly announced ACE™ 400NB, the industry’s first MIMO
channel emulator for testing Wi-Fi products. It works in
tandem with the Azimuth Director™, a software tool that
executes test scripts for individual Azimuth product test
platforms.
Customers can use Studio
for:
-
Test Reporting – Studio
automatically collects and imports test results from Azimuth
Director into a central database, where users can view
product performance and interoperability results across the
entire organization, or compare the results from multiple
test runs to assess product improvements.
-
Test Scheduling – Studio
enables users to schedule and run tests remotely. A simple
graphical interface, ensures that the correct scripts are
loaded, licensed, and run according to pre-defined times and
frequency. The scheduling feature monitors availability,
progress and execution results, and maintains a history of
tests run.
-
Equipment Inventory and
Backup – Studio maintains a record of the hardware and
software specifications of each W-Series Director to allow
scheduling and test run validation, in addition to a central
cataloging and reloading of
back-ups.
“Studio will make us more efficient in
analyzing test data and feeding that information back into our
design process,” said Keith Harrison, director, Software
Quality Assurance at Proxim. “The ability to correlate test
results across time, departments and geographies can help us
lower our development costs and bring high quality products to
market faster.”
